PAINTING gives us an extraordinary way to explore our *being*.

Where am I at? What’s my energy like – in this moment? How am I feeling, right now? What do I think about? What do I care about? What do I desire?

Using the motif of still life we will explore possibilities of being. Engaging with a repeating motif, this course will provide a range of approaches as an opportunity to expand our ways of working. Through this expanded formal range, we explore our own, inner, expanded life.

Meeting once a week for a two-hour zoom webinar session, Jordan will be demonstrating, dialoguing, and answering questions. Students are encouraged to either work alongside Jordan, or to try the exercises during the week. We will be working in both drawing and painting. While participants are free to use whatever materials are appropriate for their home or studio situation, Jordan’s materials will include graphite and charcoal, as well as oil paint.

We will engage questions related to a variety of attitudes, from objective tonal observation to gestural tactile projection, from the analytic to the intuitive, from the cautious to the explosive.

A Facebook Group page will be provided for posting our work, for supportive community and creative sharing. All sessions will be recorded and streamed in High Definition, archived and available for repeated viewing.
