This group of work explores another facet of my studio space, looking inward, away from the window and towards the back wall. In a sense I am looking with the light, joining the light, towards the collected space between the couch and chairs. The exploration moves from a linear exploration to a heavily painted gestural piece into dense veils of seeing, Somewhere in all of that are two fairly tonal pieces as well. The addition of the figure in the back of the space returns to a motif I explored in the late nineties.
These paintings were exhibited at the J. Cacciola Gallery in New York City.
