FOUNDATIONS in Drawing & Painting, Spring 2020

This class is designed to give people the fundamental tools and skills to draw and paint from life. Working from still life, Jordan demonstrates how to translate what we see into convincing and successful renditions. Jordan begins with basic drawing skills, developing proportion, and geometry. He then moves into tonality and color. Working step-by-step Jordan demonstrates a clear development of a still life and how to use oil paints. In addition, Jordan explains why working from observation is an efficient and helpful way to integrate one’s skills no matter what one’s painterly goals are.
