Extending the engagement from FLOWERS! PART 1, this series explores different ways of treating the motif of fresh flowers. Moving from descriptive legibility into investigations of form and space, of figure and ground, these videos provide an opportunity for exploring risk and discovery. Are there different ways of making marks that will arrive at the motif more indirectly and still satisfy? Are there ways of attending to our specific experience of the flowers that isn’t necessarily value or tonally based? Are there different ways of using color?
