FLOWERS! — an online intensive
Due to our current situation, this workshop is shifting to an online, weekly, format. The cost has been lowered accordingly. For participants that have previously registered credit will be given for future workshops and courses.
How does one paint a bunch of flowers and make them alive? Working in oils within the tradition of floral still life, Jordan will demonstrate, step-by-step, how to set up a convincing rendition of fresh flowers. He will also demonstrate more experimental attitudes and explore different ways of attending to the motif, in particular the aspects of form and space, and figure/ground relationships. The course will look at and examine the working methods of Manet, Van Gogh, Bonnard and Albert York.
In addition to the demonstrations, time will be made for questions and discussion.
Materials used in the demonstrations will be oil paint. Participants are welcome to use whichever materials are available and suitable for their at-home situation.
All sessions will be recorded and archived and available for viewing.
