The INTERIOR as SELF-DISCOVERY, Part Two
Part Two will run from August 2 – 23. You do not need to have done Part One to participate in Part Two.
The motif of the Interior serves not only to create the illusion of an architectural space on a flat surface, but also readily becomes a metaphor for inner exploration and self-discovery. What is the nature of this particular space that is being created — and how is this interior space somehow an extension of myself?
Through a series of hands-on, felt exercises we will build upon formal nuts and bolts and explore our own individual experiential space. I will be presenting clear weekly demonstrations providing participants with guided steps to explore both the outer structure and appearance as well as our personal internal realm.
We will be exploring our inward realm in relation to the Interior. In Part Two we’ll be taking one painting and going deeper with it — working on the one canvas for the four weeks — and exploring various implications of “self and world”, inside and out, through that painterly engagement. One element that we’ll be examining in particular will be composition and how that relates to our inner life.
In addition to the demonstrations, time will be made for LIVE questions and discussion.
Materials used in the demonstrations will be oil paint. Participants are welcome to use whichever materials are available and suitable for their at-home situation.
A Mighty Networks Members Only Group will be provided for posting our work, for supportive community and creative sharing. Click HERE.
All sessions will be streamed in HIGH DEFINITION, providing greatly increased visual acuity of the painted surface and demonstrations.
All sessions will be recorded, archived and available for repeated viewing.
A Webinar Link will be sent out upon registration.
