PAINTING, POWER & PRESENCE: A Recontextualization of the Painting Journey
Details
What is the deeper meaning of Painting today? When we engage in the activity of painting what exactly are we doing, and what does it actually matter? Contemporary artist and teacher, Jordan Wolfson, will be giving a talk on the history and prehistory of Two-Dimensional Handmade Image Making. The scope will move through the pre-Modern mythic world, into the Modern, and now Contemporary world, examining how the engagement of painting has changed — and what remains the same. Jordan will be looking at the essential experience of Presence in Painting; what is it, how it arrives, and the urgent implications for us as contemporary painters, creatives and collectors.
Tickets for the event can be found at the Penn Studio School website HERE.
The presentation will be recorded and available through the Penn Studio School for 3 months after the date of the event.
