Join us for a morning of foundational oil painting skills!

This course is designed for all levels but particularly geared for beginners.

This ongoing course is designed to help students develop the fundamental tools and skills needed to draw and oil paint from life. Working from still life, we learn how to translate what we see into convincing and successful depictions. Starting with basic drawing skills and developing a sense of proportion, we move to shading and color. Working step-by-step we develop a thorough understanding of oil paint and how to use it. As our mastery develops, spontaneous play becomes part of our repertoire.

The course is structured as an opportunity for ongoing development, allowing each participant to work at their own pace and rhythm. 

One-on-one attention is given in a supportive, creative, “salon”-style atmosphere. 

The course is ongoing, and registration is scheduled in 8-week blocks. 

Tuition for 8 weeks is $697.  Flexible pro-rating, and a sliding scale, is available upon request.
