IRELAND WORKSHOP: Landscape – Drawing as Source
Details
This workshop will explore the relationship between drawing and oil painting through the motif of landscape. How can drawing inform and enrich my painting practice? What is available through painting from drawings as opposed to directly from the motif itself? What may I discover about my way as a painter by experimenting through the practice of drawing? Working outdoors, in the morning we will be experimenting with a variety of means and ways of drawing – pencil, charcoal, ink – slow and analytic, gestural and intuitive. In the afternoons, we will continue outdoors and explore how to take the attitudes found in drawing and bring them into our painting. Risk and play will be encouraged!
It’s MAGIC. If you think you might want to do this — I highly encourage you to check it out. Really.
