I was working with a group of younger painters who were developing their hands-on skills and were quite talented. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning of foundational skills!  This 8-week section\, ongoing course is designed to help students develop the fundamental tools and skills needed to draw and oil paint from life. Working from still life\, we learn how to translate what we see into convincing and successful depictions. Starting with basic drawing skills and developing a sense of proportion\, we move to shading and color. Working step-by-step we develop a thorough understanding of oil paint and how to use it. As our mastery develops\, spontaneous play becomes part of our repertoire. \nThe course is structured as an opportunity for ongoing development\, allowing each participant to work at their own pace and rhythm.  \nOne-on-one attention is given in a supportive\, creative\, “salon”-style atmosphere. \n  \nTo register\, simply click on the “+” sign below.

DESCRIPTION:This ongoing\, LIVE\, online course provides FUNDAMENTAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT as a MINDFULNESS PRACTICE.  The two goals of technical mastery and present-moment awareness strengthen\, reinforce\, and support each other as our painting practice develops and deepens. \nAn 8-session “punch card” for a la carte sessions can be purchased below. \nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN: \nFoundational Skill Development to Translate What You See into a Convincing Image of Space\, Form and Light. \n\nGeometry and Proportion\nValue Relationships\nLine Quality\nTonal/Color Relationships\nMixing Color\nEdge Quality\nPaint and Brush Handling\nAn Integration of Your System – Eye\, Hand\, Mind and Materials\n\nThe integration of our system includes the Analytic\, Intuitive and Emotional parts of our minds. I was working with a group of younger painters who were developing their hands-on skills and were quite talented.
